Besides the old and new fortresses, the other
most recognizable and visible building in Kerkyra city is the church of Saint
Spiridon. It’s tall and narrow tower tops over other surrounding buildings at
least by half of its height. It is easily seen even from the narrowest streets
in the center.
In a b&w photo with high contrast, the
tower looks like “the white tower” surrounded by “dark forces” :-D Just like the
one from The Lord of the Rings :-P
